Continuing Education

Continuing Education is an important part of career advancement and to remain licensed in North Dakota. CEUs help licensees to stay current with the latest industry developments, develop or enhance your skills and to gain exposure to new technologies in the field.

All continuing education must be preapproved by the Board, be open to the public and designed to increase competencies in the area you are licensed in. Continuing Education can be obtained by one of the following options:

  • Workshops
  • In-person classes/seminars or
  • Online courses

Workshops, seminars or courses will need to include the following:

  • Proof of attendance for at least ten (10) clock hours of approved continuing education for the year.
  • Proof of attendance may be a cancelled check, registration receipt, or certificate. (Exception: If you receive your master's degree or higher in the current year, you are not required to provide proof of continuing education units to renew your license.)

Courses approved by ASHA, AAA or the International Hearing Association DO NOT need Board approval.

Courses that do not fall into the categories above, need to be approved by the Board using the Continuing Education Request Form. This form needs to be completed and emailed to the Board office at ndsbe.executivesecretary@gmail.

  • Once reviewed by the designated Board member, you will receive an email specifying the number of hours that were approved.
  • Courses that are approved through the year can be found using the following link: Approved Continuing Education List
  • The CE Continuing Education List is updated on a monthly basis and all approved CE requests are added to this list

Please contact the Board office with any questions.
