Continuing Education

Continuing Education is an important part of career advancement and to remain licensed in North Dakota. CEUs help licensees to stay current with the latest industry developments, develop or enhance your skills and to gain exposure to new technologies in the field.

All continuing education must be preapproved by the Board, be open to the public and designed to increase competencies in the area you are licensed in. Continuing Education can be obtained by one of the following options:

  • Workshops
  • In-person classes/seminars or
  • Online courses

Workshops, seminars or courses will need to include the following:

  • Proof of attendance for at least ten (10) clock hours of approved continuing education for the year.
  • Proof of attendance may be a cancelled check, registration receipt, or certificate. (Exception: If you receive your master's degree or higher in the current year, you are not required to provide proof of continuing education units to renew your license.)

Courses that have been preapproved by the board can be found by selecting the following link: Approved Continuing Education List. This list is updated on a regular basis and will reflect the most current approved courses.

If your course is not on the list, please request approval as soon as possible using the Continuing Education Request Form. The completed form must include a brochure and/or course outline as well as proof of attendance. Please note your license renewal cannot be issued until the course is approved by the Board.

**Education approved by ASHA or the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) does not need to be preapproved by the Board. Proof of attendance/completion must show ASHA or AAA approval, number of hours completed, and date of completion (1.0 ASHA CEU is equal to 10 hours of instruction).
